RACING
FOR OUR HEROES is a recognized 501(c)3
non-profit organization, supporting the recovery and
rehabilitation of disabled, wounded, and amputee war
zone Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
In
cooperation with the International MotorSports Association
(IMSA) and the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), RACING
FOR OUR HEROES is designed to express, in
a tangible way, a collective appreciation for our Veterans'
sacrifices, while expressing our hope that each of these
brave Soldiers and Marines recover as quickly and completely
as possible.
Our
mission is supporting, enabling, and encouraging the
recovery of our Military Heroes -- Army, Navy, Air Force,
and Marine Corps -- who have been seriously injured
in the military campaigns: Operation Enduring Freedom
and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Founded
in September 2006 by former U.S. Marine and current American
Le Mans racing driver Jason Carter, RACING
FOR OUR HEROES has worked diligently to develop
a Motor Sports program for our wounded Warriors who have expressed
a passion for the sport of motor racing. We have
had the privilege of visiting Brooke Army Medical Center in
San Antonio, TX as well as Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington,
D.C.
Since
our visits, we have received hundreds of requests from our
wounded Veterans and/or their family members wishing to join
RACING FOR OUR HEROES.
We are overjoyed that this project has touched so many of
our brave Veterans, and as a result, we have established (In
cooperation with the Department of Defense) a plan allowing
all of our "RACING FOR OUR HEROES
Soldiers and Marines"
to join us during the 2010 IMSA / ALMS race season.
RACING
FOR OUR HEROES
is a galvanizing effort, designed to encourage and inspire
our Military Heroes as they endure lengthy and difficult recovery
& rehabilitation procedures. Our
goal is to provide much needed rest and relaxation as well
as an exciting and memorable experience for our Military Heroes
and their families.
As
our Wounded Warriors have differing needs, we have established
different
RACING
FOR OUR HEROES
experiences.

1.
HERO DAYS
allows our Veterans the opportunity to experience, firsthand,
the excitement of being in a Race Car while on the racetrack.
Each veteran will be able to ride in an actual IMSA
/ ALMS Race Car, as well as interact directly with the
drivers and crews of the world's most prestigious race
teams. Hero Days are private outings, where our Veterans
will have full access to the Race Cars, the Race Teams,
and the Race Drivers. Each outing is designed as a day
of fun at the racetrack, while exposing our wounded
& injured Veterans to the world of professional
Motor Sports.
2.
RACE DAYS provides
another amazing experience for our Military Heroes who
may not be physically ready for a Hero Day outing. During
Race Days, RACING
FOR OUR HEROES, invites
and hosts small groups of Veterans and their family
members at each of our IMSA / ALMS races throughout
North America. We provide a complete VIP racing experience
for our Veterans, complete with full access to -- the
paddock area, the
RACING
FOR OUR HEROES
Race Car, reserved tickets to
the event, reserved parking, hotel accommodations, airfare,
and meals with our Race Team. These events are designed
to provide a very special racing experience for our
wounded Veterans and their families.
